Somewhere... Just south of Austin:
"Oh! My Goodness! You poor thing! What happened to you?"
"Well, there was this big bully, who pushed me down and took my lunch money."
"But your ego is all beaten up, too. What all went on?"
"Um, remember the fencing tournament I went to this weekend? That same bully showed up there, beat up everybody, and won the tounament. I don't know what would make someone behave that way. There were guys knocked down all over the place."
"Don't you worry, you poor thing, your mother will see that this person is given a good talking to. I'm calling his mother. What's his name?"
"Ah, um, well, HER name is Francesca Bassa. And she's mean, mom, real mean."
Notice served gentlemen; This is more than just a pretty face.
OK, Schlager-The-All-Knowing, keeper of records obscure and obtuse, tell me this: When is the last time a girl won an Adult "A" rated Mixed Open Epee Tournament? (Actually, Britta did, last year sometime I think) When is the last time a 14-year old won an Adult "A" rated Mixed Open Epee Tournament? Here's the real 64 dollar question: When was the last time a 14 year old girl won an Adult "A" rated Mixed Open Epee Tournament? Consider this my nomination for Francesca to be Fencer of the Month. What a performance............. Congratulations Francesca!

Francesca fenced very well, and defeated Risto Hurme in the final bout to win. Congrats Francesca.
Jon, I know that Kelley Hurley won the Bobcat in San Marcos as a Div A3 or Div A4 in October. I think Courtney Hurley won one also. I think you need to watch out when someone sticks a point at you, no matter who it is.

I think you need to watch out when someone sticks a point at you, no matter who it is. Especially if they have a pretty face and a sweet smile, it seems. I think there's some poor lads out there who wont knnow what hit 'em...both on the strip and off.
