Without Wysocki, this is Forbus' game.

Totally. Forbus, plain and simple. Sheesh that boy deserves his B though if anyone does!

Yeah, I have to join the chorus for Forbus. It's his time.

Did I just hear a vote for the unattached wonder of South Texas? ;D

For anybody wondering, I've picked this tournament to referee, with the hopes of a rating increase. I picked it because last year it was an A2. Too bad it's looking smaller this year.

BTW, who's responsible for the goofy "hate sabre" button?
Not getting enough sleep schlager?

I was up rather late. It's gone, now. Just a bit of late-night silliness...

I wish I could be there but business meeting calls. My prediction lies in the hands of the director. It's very crucial that the director pay attention to actions in the middle of the strip. I think directing is getting better but further development should take place in regard to simultaneous actions.
If the director calls the middle of the strip properly Forbus should win. Forbus has a nice middle game with several nice simultaneous actions to choose from.
Forbus would be my favorite.
The dark horse would be Diaz. Has a nice Parry Riposte and change of speed with attacks. If Diaz can execute short efficient actions on the march the bout should interesting
Sexton would be a long shot but you can never count him out. Nice short attack on the march. He's a competitor to the bitter end. Hat's off to Sexton.
Prediction for final bout
Forbus 15 Diaz 11
Have fun this weekend.

I just hope they all make it to the final 8 so it stays a B tournament.

And the gold medal bout was COOL. They were on the one raised strip, and it thundered with some of the actions. It was a close score, too, although not 15-14 close, more like 15-11? Someone with a better memory than I can speak to that. It was awesome to watch.
Re, Mr. Guerinot's comment about the director, it was Amgad Badawi directing.

Yes, it was a most excellent bout. Quite well fought. And Forbus finally earning his B and several others getting rating increases as well.

I just checked the rolling points list, and I'm second! Well, effectively tied with Daniel Lancaster, but I have to doubt he'll come all the way down to the Gulf Coast Open. So I'd better get back to fencing, and now I don't have to beat Forbus to earn my C. (He's taken me out in oh, 4 of the last 6 tournaments I've been to, I think)

That reminds me... the rolling points are not coming up correctly on Fred. It has the Rose results on there twice, both 2006 and 2005, and is missing the Space City SSCC (last year's Gulf Coast event)...I'm assuming just because there is a different order of events than there was last year.
So who should be notified? David's email is listed as the list owner but is he still doing it?

Evelyn, I think it only counts the last five tournaments fenced for Section points. So, since Rose was SSCC#4 last year, the Space City already rolled off. I think it's actually correct, showing SSCC#4, #5, #1 (Longhorn), #2, #3 in that order.

Yes, that is correct. The new regulations the EC adopted at the beginning of the year to move to a rolling point system specified that the rolling point system would rotate in accord with order of events fenced.

Which, incidentally, dropped me a couple of places, as I had a 3T from space city instead of a dead last form Oz Oh, well, have to go earn it back, I suppose.

Well, it makes more sense to do it in order of event, rather than replacing the "same event." Different tournaments are held at different times each year (like this past year how the Rose moved from February to January), and then also, a couple of divisions rotate around.

Well, since the events are not held in the same order season to season, I think it's confusing either way.
Thanks for the clarification, jazz.
