As of this writing, FRED shows 19As have pre-registered!
17 of the 19 are A 2005s! I have restricted our choices to the A05s and "someone else" to keep the poll from becoming endless...

Unfortunately I'm going to have to take this one off, lest my wife think I'm actaully fencing again... so... I'm voting for my boy, Brent, who made the 32 in the Div 1 at the Houston NAC.

This is a very tough event... and a tough call. I went with Shawn Wright just for fun. I like his attitude.

Hmm...
I went with "someone else" after hearing Moreau and, maybe some other, late comers have pre-registered since this poll started.

Some of the POUJ results:
Yesterday- Cadet ME was won by Jonathan Parker.
Today-
Mixed Epee appears to be an A4 tournament with 8 new A06. 69 fencers and about 20 something As.
As I left, Reed seems the favorite to win it all. Last 8: 4 South Texans (Reed d. E. Hurme; Rodgers def. Moreau) and 4 Gulf Coast Texans (Trapani d. Loparco; and S. Wright was fencing Z. Krury).
I ended up being eliminated by my coach (Mittal) and expect to end between 22-25. Shawn Wright beat Neal Mittal in a very good bout to get into the top 16. Micek eliminated Sexton to get into top 32 but then lost. Both Shawn and Micek placed very poorly after pools. On average, 2 As per pool. My son lost to Krury (who is ~ 2 feet taller than him) only 10-15, with the only 3 double touches.
As usual, great atmosphere at the tournament, with most strips being grounded.

I'm glad there weren't any questionable calls, other than the referee telling Robert he couldn't change his broken blade.

Funny thing about Robert's weapons...
I picked up the one with the broken blade which he left behind at the strip...
And noticed it had MY NAME written in it!

So I'm supposed to check for tip screws, thick and thin shims, loose barrels, tape on the handle, spaghetti tubing over both wires, no exposed copper wire, retaining device on the socket and now you want me to check for stolen weapons too?

Chill out you guys...Longblade lent me that weapon at the Houston NAC,so it ain't stolen...I'll replace the blade ASAP,LB!...And you're right kd5mdk, directors should only check a blade for rule violations, not weapon ownership...Can't we all just get along?...*sniff*

That's not the weapon with the shiny gold pistol grip that you used to beat me at the Houston Div 1 NAC is it? I figured you must have gotten that one from an ancient Egyptian tomb or something like that....

Unfortunately for you,it wasn't.It's still intact and I'm waiting to use it in Houston...Actually,I got it for 1st place at the Battle on the Bayou tourney,it was on a plaque they presented...It has limited powers,so I have to use sparingly...see ya soon, bud!

Ancient Egyptian Epees would certainly make for better fencing movies...
