I don't believe I've ever seen either of the younger As fence Ms. Madera de barrera. Certainly she has the higher result at Houston, though.

Esperanza was on fire at the NAC. If she's still as hot as last month, it's going to be an uphill battle for the others.

NaRaye might still take her, if she doesn't have wrist issues or the like (keep hydrated, girl!)

Looks like the consensus is that this will come down to Scarborough vs Madera de Barrera.

Well, it looks like fox and one other person correctly predicted NaRaye Williams as the winner. She won out over Evelyn Scarborough in the final.

It was exceedingly close, though. I didn't see (or don't remember, it was a long weekend) NaRaye's semi-final bout so I don't know how hard that one was, but Evelyn won her semifinal with Ms. Barrera in overtime with priorty against her, and then lost the final with priority with her. I wonder if there's something about priority that works against a fencer...

I tend to think its mostly chance if both fencers have good tactical strategy. I've won/lost many bouts either way... and sometimes you just miss
