If you can do it better, we'll all flock to your banner next time. Dan Which explains, no doubt, the success of FRED and Fencing Net. They provide services/information the official site either does not or does when it can find the time.

Anybody have a list of vendors? I'm planning to go and just spectate, observe good officiating, etc.

I'm assuming the vendors will be the usual suspects - Allstar BG Absolute PBT Swordmasters Blade Tripplette Fencing Post etc, etc

Does Blade actually run a separate booth for the Blade name and for AllstarUSA? I can just see all their front companies in a row, with the same gear behind the tables.

We have friends (actually the whole church youth group) who want to see some fencing next weekend. Does anyone know what (if any) the entrance fee will be at the George R Brown?

It should be free except for the parking lot fees. (Be sure to plan to avoid the races on Saturday and Sunday mornings!)

For general public viewing we might want to send our friends down on Friday, Saturday or Monday.
Sunday is the Houston Marathon. Could be crowded downtown. Monday is MLK day....no government employees working.....

The NCAA Fencing Championships last year, in the same venue, were all of 1 or 2 dollars...
By the way, has anyone noticed that on the night before the NAC opens the USFA site is down?

That always seems to happen with the USFA Web site and NACs. I just memorized what I needed to know (when the events I want to watch and the events my friends are competeing in take place).

Event is free and open, and running well. Also, if the USFA website is down check the Southwest Section site, they have a lot of stuff backed up I'm told.

Best of all, if the results make it the SW Section site tonight, as there is reason to believe they will the section site is capable of displaying results by division... You know, like the USFA site used to?

Rats, nothing so far and the USFA site is still down I wish someone would just hand me a hard copy today, I'd type it in one at a time!

Thanks to this forum's own MTD, the results for the Houston NAC are here: www.southwestfencing.org/Perls/USFAtournresult.php?tournid=18 You can search for results by division here: www.southwestfencing.org/Perls/USFAtourndivisions.php?tournid=18Thanks MTD although, for now it looks like the USFA site is up, running and current. Both the site above and the USFA sites are still only showing Friday's results, so far. I will probably see more of the fencing Sunday. I spent most of Friday and Saturday working as a general helper to Gary van der Wege on the wheelchair fencing (my choice - since I have rarely had much exposue to this). Sunday has only one wheelchair event. While I've frequently served as a hand judge and a floor judge, I think this was a first for MTD, kd5mdk and I as we each have served as butt judges, now.
