With regard to the inquiry about the SCA at TRF from one of the other boards, I found the following posts on the alt.fairs.renaissance newsgroup after doing a Google search:
First, I found this post:
The SCA booth is now being operated by a weapons museum and combat demonstration. Nicely set up, but the big question is: what happened to SCA? Didn't even see a SCA gathering sign on CR 1774 on the way up.
It was followed by: The management of TRF did not choose to renew the relationship with the SCA for various reasons.
Finally a post from steverourke@charter.net : I have no problem with sharing the information with anyone, however since this decision was reached last year I see no reason to take up bandwidth by posting the their reasons, which are valid. There is no bad feelings to the best of my knowledge between TRF and the SCA. That being said I will send you a copy of the email describing the situation and decision, as I will to anyone who asks.
Not much help, I know, but it gives anyone still curious an avenue to pursue the matter further...

So it's basically like Dan said: the SCA was shown the door.
Too bad. Their fencing looked a little odd, but to each their own. My only thing was it seemed awfully SLOW.
(Of, course, I never tried fencing with 2 foils, either)
