I just happened to notice that the SCA Chapter in Clear Lake, called (I hope I spell this right) Loch Soillier is planning something called the Tourney by the Loch on the first weekend of November.
What caught my eye is that they will have a "youth rapier" event (they have youth fencing, too?).
I'm really thinking that, if they allow non-members to watch and I am not obligated, I may just go and check this out. It could be interesting to see what someone else's view of fencing is like.

A quick search did not reveal any Web details about the Tourney by the Loch, at least not this many months in advance. The Web site for the Barony of Loch Soilleir (i.e., the Clear Lake area) is loch-soilleir.ansteorra.org/. The Web site for the Coastal Region (i.e., the Gulf Coast Division minus its northwesternmost areas like Bryan) of the Kingdom of Ansteorra is coastal.ansteorra.org/. The Web site for the Kingdom of Ansteorra (i.e., Oklahoma plus Texas without the Mountain Time portion which coincidentally is in the Border Texas Division) is www.ansteorra.org/. The Web site for SCA is www.sca.org.
