Im an avid SCAdian and am trying to get my fiance to join me going to events, she used to fence "traditional" style I guess, but how hard would it be for someone to transition to SCA fencing? She said shes never used a buckler or a second foil, or even a main gouge, any ideas or comments? Thanks all!

I fenced USFA style before I tried my hand at any historical styles. Still, she will already have an appreciation of the fundamentals that translate regardless of style: timing, distance, looking for lines opening and the value of a good parry/riposte.
