I copied this from the Rogue site and thought I'd see if any of my colleagues from CLFC or SHHSFT might check this out...
Tourney by the Loch Loch Soilleir, the Clear Lake chapter, or barony, of the Society for Creative Anachronisms (SCA) will hold their annual Tourney by the Loch, Friday-Sunday, December 2-4.
Among the competitions will be a rapier tournament, the format of which will be standard double elimination. Letters of Intent are required.
The outgoing youth rapier champion has stated: "We will be deciding both our Rapier and Youth Rapier Championships. The format of the tournament to decide our second youth rapier champion will be determined at the event, based on the number of participants."
The event will be held at A Community of the Servant-Savior Presbyterian Church (a.k.a. Sagement Presbyterian Church), 11303 Hughes Road, Houston, TX, 77089.
Take I-45 South from Houston towards Galveston, Texas. Exit at Scarsdale and turn West onto Scarsdale. Turn Right on Beamer. Turn Right on Hughes. The church will be on your left hand side.
Fees are 6.00 for adults; 3.00 for children ages 6-12; children under 6 are free; there is no family cap. A 3.00 non-member surcharge applies to anyone without proof of SCA membership. Please make checks payable to SCA, Inc./Barony of Loch Soilleir.
Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. They may also attend with a 21 year or older adult with a signed and notarized Minor Event Waiver Form from the parents.

I just got this by email and wanted to share. The author points out a potentially embarassing situation. This is for my USFA fencing colleagues that may chose to visit.
I doubt the confusion they fear would occur, but for those who were comtemplating just jumping in, be forewarned and, of course, show respect for another group's way of doing things.
John,
Thank you for mentioning us on your website. We appreciate your kindness in including us, but I think you may be giving your fencers the wrong impression that this is an "open" tournament that they can participate in just by showing up that day.
The SCA Youth Rapier program has very strict training and authorizing standards for its participants as well as stringent armoring requirements that are very different from Olympic-style fencing. It generally takes our youth a couple months of work to be "tournament ready".
Your kids are certainly welcome to come to our event and see how we do things, but they will not be able to fight in the tournament. I am sorry for any confusion this may have caused.
regards, Simone Valery la Rousse former Kingdom Youth Rapier Marshall - Ansteorra
