I went over to Ruston for this workshop (as a vendor mainly). I was very impressed with the quality and talent of the instructors. The weapons there were also of very high quality. I would recommend anyone interested in stage combat or looking to further hone your acting skills to attend this workshop next Easter weekend. Mark (Rat) Guinn puts on a class act and there is a big Crawfish Boil on Sunday afternoon (Hence the name Ruston Boil). Hope to see you there...I am planning on attending and participating next year.

It is interesting...
One of the reasons I never got around to taking fencing in college (and why I was almost 40 when I finally found a fencing class in a pre-Internet life) is that most of my youth was spent in theatre (largely in design and stage management). I still recall sitting in the beams over the stage at SHSU's University Theatre Center in the 1970s watching Claude Caux give a master class in stage combat while preparing for our summer productions.
Part of me would still like to take some stage combat courses. Maybe if there are entry-level workshops at the Texas Intensive...
