Clarence, No one else on this board remembers you. ... Augie Oh, yes, Augie... some of us do remember Clarence!Clarence was probably the best sabre fencer in the state in his day. He won enough to prove that, and then some. He was so fast!I remember when David Morris and I had to call your mother to get permission to take you to a tournament. Remember? Now? You were just the "big-eared kid". Thankfully, you grew into those... well... somewhat. You were just a baby back then. We thought the world of you. You had promise! You were part of our hope for a few more years of dominance. I left the team about the next semester after you joined. I went on to coach at Texas Tech. We were the SWT competitive team (Late 70s-early 80s). And you were the baby we took on. You fenced Epee. Not sabre. Clarence was the guy winning the event across the gym. He dated our best Women's fencer (my little sister), Marcy. Clarence was kicking "hind end" in sabre when you were still too young to drink... well, legally, anyway. You were just coming along when Clarence was in the peak of his form. Yeah, some of us of us on the forum do remember Clarence!
